time to run

Last time I planned on doing a running event, I came down with a kidney infection and strep throat at the same time! So I decided I wasn't ready since it took me so long to recover. But I through this program Get Moving Memphis, I found this awesome couch to 4 miler program!
It start next Monday!
Running times:
Monday 6am, Tuesday 6pm, Wednesday 6am, Thursday 6pm, and Saturday 8am
This program goes for 8 weeks and concludes with the Cooper Young 4 mile run. We start our walking/ running as we build up to 4 miles. I am so excited because this is perfect for me! Plus me attempting to run 5 days a week has to drop off a few pounds, right?
Now I just need to find a good running shoe that won't cost me an arm and a leg!
Any shoe suggestions?

So I got these Nike shoes a while back, and I love them, but they cost about eighty-bucks.

However, the key to successful running is in the shoes! Spend whatever money you must on them.

I'm going to recommend a running store.

I love Asics and I can usually get them at Dicks Sporting goods for a reasonable price. They will help you pick out the right ones for your feet too!!

Kudos to you for your workout schedule!! I need to get one of those - lol!!! :)

You go girlfriend! I love New Balance. The classics. Even Reebok classics. I know they are old school, but they give great support and last forever. Can't wait to see how you do. Good luck!

I think that is so wonderful and I have heard of programs like this before. Good luck with it! I would love to try something like this, because I am not a runner at all.

I really like my Nike sneaks!

Girl!!! I am so proud of you for doing this!!! I want to build up myself to run next year for the 4 mile race I fail on this year. I ran that race in these crappy Nike's I found and I paid for it badly (do you remember the ankle problems I had). I'll be visiting a local running store to get a specialty shoe now that I know I roll my ankle when I run. Good luck on the hunt and keep us updated on your running progress!!! XOXO
