time to run...

I decided I need to get back in gear when it comes to running. I have set a goal to run/walk the Harbortown 5k on june 5th. I know that is soon, but I won't expect myself to run the whole thing. So today on this hot and humid day, I changed clothes and headed out. What I literally did was walk a block, run a block - the whole 30 min. Kinda sad but it has been a while. I went for 1.9 miles and came back with a very red face and a very tired body. Sometimes I have this urge where I need to go and run. I haven't run outside in a long time. You will always find me on a treadmill. My knees are getting old and it is much easier for me to run on something with some cushioning. There is something very peaceful about running outside. I didn't even take my ipod with me. Totally forgot about it. I just enjoyed the birds chirping and listening to my thoughts. now it is time to ice the knees...

Oh, and good luck with running. I've tried it, but just can't get into it. LOVE to walk, though. Could walk for hours if I had the time. I agree, exercising outside is the best.

I'm an outside-exerciser myself! We wanted to do the Harbortown run when we were there, but moved too soon! Good luck!

Hi swap partner! In addition to sending you some fun summer stuff, I hope I can inspire you with your 5k goal. I ran one on 5/2 and 5/16, so I have plenty of insight and advice. You will feel SO good when you cross the finish line :)
